OVER half a million drivers in the Balearics are going to be rewarded with two points on their licenses for being “good” drivers.
The announcement was made yesterday by the Provincial Traffic Department.
Under the scheme, drivers who have not been docked any points since the new points system was introduced on July 1, 2006, will receive two extra points in recognition of their good behaviour on the roads. Since the new points system came into force, 378 drivers in the Balearics have been docked all their points while a further 22'876 drivers have been docked a total of 85'346 points between them.

A total of 169 have so far had their licenses withdrawn.
