PALMA
THE President of the Spanish Federation of Travel Agent Associations said yesterday that last minute bookings and the return of “loyal” foreign holiday makers will save the summer season.

Rafael Gallego explained that the domestic and foreign markets are all booking late this year but, as the Bulletin has been reporting, there has been a recent revival in demand for summer holidays in the Balearics and Spain in the UK and Spanish travel agents are also enjoying a late surge in demand for holidays at home in destinations like the Balearics and the Canaries.

REPEAT VISITORS “Last minute bookings are going to save the season and Spain's visitors are very loyal. Six out of every eight foreign holiday makers are repeat visitors. They know the destinations, know we offer value for money and they will return,” he said yesterday.

Domestic demand for cruise holidays has risen and , while a late influx of Britons is expected to come to Spain and the Balearics, London is one of the most popular destinations this summer because of the Pound's weak value against the Euro.
