Palma.—Photographs of some of the greatest natural wonders of the world are on display in Palma until 15 September in an open air exhibition entitled “Natural Treasures of the World.” The 77 picture exhibition that includes images of the Grand Canyon in Colorado, The Galapagos Islands, the Patagonian Glaciers in Argentina and the highest peaks of Nepal, is on display on the Passeig Sagrera de Palma, stretching from the Es Baluard to La Llonja. The event organised by the AXA foundation aims to represent “a spectacular journey through the places that best represent the protected sites by UNESCO,” and according to the Mayor of Palma, Mateo Isern, it is a much welcomed boost to the local culture. “We need to promote and spread the message to all citizens of how important it is to preserve the Environment. “The moment to take care of it is now,” adding that Palma is itself an “unmatchable treasure” and that the Council is working very hard to ensure that everything is being done to make the capital an even more attractive eco-friendly city.
