AVERAGE hotel room rates have risen by four percent this month with Palma having the second most expensive hotels in Spain.
According to the monthly European room rate check carried out by Trivago, the average room rate in Spain is 95 euros per night, however here in Palma, the average if 140 euros, second only to San Sebastian where average rates this month have risen to 145 euros. Barcelona comes third where room rates are 136 euros. The other two Spanish cities where room rates breach the 100 euro barrier are Santander and Santiago de Compostela.
The cheapest hotels can be found in Zaragoza where average room rates are 57 euros although even in Granada, a huge tourist destination, average room rates are only 66 euros per night.
The most expensive hotels in Europe this month are in Switzerland, Russia and Norway. The cheapest are in Eastern Europe.
