Palma.—The Partido Popular in the Balearics received almost 100'000 euros in donations for 2007 elections
Anonymous, the organisation which hacks and leaks information on the internet, has posted information related to the Partido Popular's accounts between 1990 and 2011, some of this information relating specifically to the PP in the Balearics.

The party has said that this information corresponds to documentation it lodges periodically with the equivalent of the Audit Commission. Nevertheless, the party requested the Guardia Civil to block the page set up by Anonymous.

What Anonymous revealed was that in 2007, a year of regional and local elections, the PP in the Balearics had income amounting to 2.1 million euros and costs of 2 million. The revenue included just over 200'000 euros from membership fees and donations of 95'810 euros, of which 6'150 euros are not identified. Some of the costs related to significant spends, e.g. working lunches cost 33'675 euros, while a general item “hospitality” amounted to 19'135 euros. The rental of rooms cost the party just slightly less than 300'000 euros.

The PP's debts for 2007 were important. Long-term financing was shown to have reached 516'136 euros.
