Palma.—The foster parents of four-year-old Marga emerged from a Palma court hearing in tears yesterday after the Juvenile Prosecutor demanded that the baby girl be immediately handed over into the care of the Council of Majorca Social Services so that the process can begin to eventually return her into the custody of her British father , John.

Yesterday's court hearing was brought about by the foster parents in an attempt to block the order to give up custody of Marga.
They should have complied with the order last Thursday, when John was in Majorca spending time with his daughter under the supervision of the Social Services. They have clearly ruled that John be awarded custody of his baby girl.

However, last Thursday, the foster parents failed to hand over Marga and will now face legal action which is being brought by the Council of Majorca Social Services.

In the meantime, the foster parents, who were accompanied by Marga's “foster grand mother” yesterday, appear intent on trying to retain custody of Marga.

Yesterday's hearing lasted the best part of three hours and the foster parents refused to make any comment on leaving the court house.
The foster grand parents, however, appeared optimistic. “For us, she's a grand daughter and she has spent nearly four years as part of out family,” the foster grand mother said.
But, after the hearing and having been informed about what had gone on inside the court, she burst into tears claiming “justice is very unfair.” John told the Bulletin exclusively last weekend that he has complete faith in the justice system here and that the foster parents will eventually be made to comply with the order to hand Marga over into his custody. He is aware that Marga will first have to be taken into the care of the Social Services but that is what he wants. “I don't want to rush her away immediately, I want her to take all the time she needs with the child psychologists at the Social Services to get used to her new situation and then, when the professionals see fit, I will take her to begin a new life with me in England where everything is ready for her.”
