Palma.—Andreu Coll, the son of leading Alaro businessman of the same name, appeared before a remand hearing in Palma yesterday with his accomplice Fran, accused of having murdered his father.

The teenager and Fran were arrested after his father's funeral on Wednesday night and have since apparently cracked under police questioning and apparently admitted the crime to the Guardia Civil. On Thursday he was taken back to the scene of the crime, the mansion he shared with his father in Alaro, to reconstruct the crime.

Apparently, the suspect was tired by being continually humiliated and insulted by his father.
According to police sources, Andreu has stated that he finally lost his nerves in the early hours of Sunday morning and attacked his father. Fran has also apparently confessed to having joined in the attack and they both beat Andreu's father through the house - police found traces of blood on the telephone, walls and in the basement.

They then abandoned his body in a Land Rover they left parked next to Bunyola cemetery.
The victim, whose estranged wife and two older sons live in Santa Ponsa, had apparently written them out of his will just two weeks ago leaving 19-year-old Andreu as the sole benefactor to a fortune estimated to have been around 50 million euros.

On the day the businessman was killed, the two suspects took 200'000 euros in cash out of the safe inside the Alaro mansion.
A neighbour said that the crime has stunned the village of Alaro.
