THERE'S nothing like a little Majorcan sunshine for chasing away the World Cup disappointment, as England's star midfielder Frank Lampard has just found out.
Lampard, his Catalan fiancée Elen Rives, and their baby daughter Luna have been cruising the Mediterranean aboard a luxury yacht, which they boarded in St Tropez and which slipped into Majorca virtually unnoticed. But while he may have escaped the attention of tourists, the Chelsea star was spotted by the paparazzi who make Majorca their base at this time of year, because of the number of famous faces who can be seen here. Lampard, looking every inch the holiday maker in white shirt, shorts and sandals, and his family were spotted saying goodbye to another couple who remained on board the yacht. Elen was carrying Luna in her arms as they then got into a luxury car and drove away. The local paparazzi lost their trail near Palmanova, but it is believed that they were heading for the airport, after spending the past few days calling in at some of the island's quiet coves. Lampard, who has been capped for England 38 times, confessed that he was deeply upset when his team were knocked out of the competition by Portugal.
IRONICAL
And so it was ironical that the yacht he was holidaying on should have been flying the Portuguese flag.
However that did not seem to dampen his holiday spirit or prevent him from enjoying the Majorcan sunshine with his family and friends.
