THE fire brigade had to evacuate the fourth floor of the Hotel Palmanova Palace in Palmanova in the early hours of yesterday morning. The fire brigade reported that one person required treatment for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
It is believed to have broken out at about 4am, in a trolley holding towels and cleaning materials.
The flames gave off thick smoke which made it necessary to evacuate the guests in the fourth floor, although they were allowed to return to their rooms one hour later.
CALVIA
The blaze was tackled by firemen from the Calvia fire station.
They put the fire out within half an hour, but remained at the hotel for a furhter half hour until all the smoke had been dispersed.
The hotel is in Calle Miquel dels Sants Oliver.
