PALMA
THE judge presiding over the investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds designated for Ibatur, the Balearic Institute for Tourism Marketing and promotions, yesterday set bail at 15'000 euros for the director of the region's leading events and concert organisers.

Miguel Jaume, the owner and director of the Trui Group, has 72 hours to meet bail in order to avoid being held on remand.- He has also had his passport confiscated.
The investigation is focusing on the payments of commissions and the granting of contracts by Ibatur during the previous conservative Partido Popular legislature led by the former President Jaume Matas. Jaume is the sixteenth person to have been arrested since the fraud squad was ordered to mount Operation Pasarela, after six months of investigations, on June 29.

All of the detainees have since been released, either on bail or without charges.
Earlier this week, one of the former directors of Ibatur during the previous legislature was sent to prison.
