PALMA
PALMA will shortly host various congresses and conventions, consolidating it into a business city.
This is thanks, above all, to the promotional efforts of the Municipal Institute for Tourism (Imtur) with the collaboration of the private sector.
According to Imtur their department specialising in conference tourism (Palma de Mallorca Congresos e Incentivos) is continuing the promotion and booking of convention events for the city.

So far this year a total of 66 applications have been received for the organisation of events on the island, in comparison with the 83 which were received over the whole of 2006.

Because of this the forecast is that the increase over the whole of 2007 will be more than 30 percent. Also, the Congresos e Incentivos department is continuing to increase the number of collaborating companies.

During 2006 there were 76 collaborating companies and this year they hope to exceed 100.
The success of this department lies in the four pillars of public-private collaboration: the experience and professionalism of the collaborating companies; the commitment to quality; the commitment to continuous improvements; and adhering to a pioneering ethical code in the congress sector.

Finally the “3rd International Multidisciplinary Congress”, the “10th National Menopause Congress”, the “28th Microbiology Congress” and the “Alexander Von Humbaldt Association of Spain Congress” are some of the conventions which will take place soon in the Balearic capital.
