An inspection team from the government performed almost seven hundred checks in the first three months of the year and discovered that around 106 businesses in the Balearics are working without proper documentation. The team visited different establishements, in Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza, from mobile phone shops to restaurants and clothes shops. Overall, 113 infractions were detected although only one inquiry was opened, after a shop owner refused to provide the documents he was asked for. Most of the infractions were due to lack of information regarding the sales period, opening times, poor labelling or failing to inform the authorities about the clearance period.
