THE Majorcan Unionist's local committee in Calvia will be meeting next week, probably on Tuesday, to analyse the situation after the resignation of councillor Joan Thomás, and how it affects its pact with the Partido Popular. Party spokesman Isidre Cañellas said the party wanted to maintain its alliance with the PP, but the new circumstances meant that it had to reflect.
Unlike Thomás, Cañellas and the rest of the UM were opposed to PP plans for a theme park and the Nova Santa Ponsa estate.
