PALMA
THE alleged killer of 25-year-old Ana Niculai is back on remand in Palma prison and the judge and police investigating the brutal murder are continuing piecing the jigsaw of events leading up to her death on July 19 together.

Sources close to the investigation revealed yesterday that Alejandro de Abarco tried to cooperate during the reconstruction of events at the scene on Wednesday afternoon but was incapable of providing any useful information. It now appears that she may have died from asphyxiation and a blow to the head, not the the heroin he injected her with.

He also revealed that he twice tied her to a tree before bundling her into the car he later torched.
