PALMA
SPANISH new car registrations declined in July after increasing sharply in June, car manufacturers' association ANFAC said yesterday.
According to a report released by the Federation of Automotive Dealers on July 15, the number of cars registered in Spain 14 percent across Spain and nearly 38 percent here in the Balearics in the first half of July

WORSE THAN EXPECTED
The result was “much worse than expected” and was mainly due to the end of a stimulus scheme for first car buyers, the federation added.
The main reasons are the rise in VAT and the end of the government's vehicle subsidies.
