PALMA
THE British Consul to Majorca and Minorca Paul Abrey, yesterday assured the Balearic government that last week's suspected ETA car bomb which claimed the lives of two young members of the Guardia Civil in Palmanova, has not had a negative affect on British holiday bookings.

Over the weekend reports of holiday cancellations in Britain and Germany were published, but these have since been proven to be incorrect and yesterday Abrey and his German and French counterparts, Wolfgang Wiesner and Michel Magnier-Diez and the head of the Balearic Consular Corps, Pedro Pablo Marrero, told the Balearic President, Francesc Antich, that the terrorist attack in Calvia has had little or no repercussions on the island's three main holiday markets.
