PALMA
PLANS to redevelop the western docks in the Port of Palma to provide mooring space for super liners was yesterday given the green light providing the project meets a series of environmental conditions.

The expansion project was given the go ahead by the Environment Ministry which yesterday also published an environmental viability study which includes the requisites the project has got to comply with. Key to the project is the lengthening of the main west quay, which will not only enable larger cruise ships to safely moor up in Palma but also provide extra space for better facilities for visiting cruise passengers.
