NEWSDESK THE organisers of the “Thursday Night Fever” shopping initiative in Palma yesterday claimed that the idea proved a great success last month - its full month in operation.

The Federation of Commercial Businesses, Palma's Hotel Federation and the Restaurant Association all agreed yesterday that the results of the late night shopping campaigns have been “very positive.” According to the commercial body, both residents and tourists have responded well to the midnight opening drive and that the number of participating shops has steadily increased since the initiative was launched.

The extra public transport services laid on to facilitate shoppers getting in and out of the city centre has also had a marked affect on trade.
