STAFF REPORTER FRENCH environmental services company Suez Environnement said yesterday that its Spanish subsidiary Agbar will be the municipal water suppliers in Calvia for the next 50 years.

Suez confirmed that a contract in excess of 980 million euros has been signed enabling Agbar to supply Calvia's 52'000 inhabitants. A spokesman for Suez said that Agbar will be handling the soaring summer demand for water in Calvia, when owing to seasonal visitors, consumption levels can triple.
