By R. Harrison PALMA'S Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art will tonight be hosting a unique music event featuring top international German DJ, J. Peter Schwalm as part of the museum's “Lluna d'Es Baluard 05” summer music cycle. Schwalm, who during his career has worked alongside the likes of David Bowie and U2 producer Brian Eno, will be playing exclusive tracks from his latest album, “Musikain.” The German musician, who is now based in Barcelona, trained as a drummer and composer, and started his career in the music industry back in 1993, when he established the experimental jazz band Slop Shop. Since then he has released a number of successful albums and in 1997 founded record label Poets Club Records. Brian Eno, who worked with Schwalm on their 2001 album “Drawn from Life”, said of him: “Sometimes you hear something and think, now this is how the modern world feels to me. Peter's music is like that, capturing excitement and speed and ambiguity and even wistfulness and melancholy. “It's a complex emotional palette which feels to me like real life,” he added. Tonight's concert will be held within the walls of the dramatic Es Baluard fortress, with big crowds expected from across the island. After Palma he plans to embark on a European tour.
