THE Guardia Civil in Minorca, where Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar and his family are currently on holiday, have arrested two men known to be connected to the Basque terrorist group ETA. In an official statement released by the central government delegation in the Balearics, the two arrests were made on Wednesday, when the Guardia Civil spotted the two men driving to Ciutadella, where the yacht being used by the Aznar family is moored. Police made their move when the two started making for the Aznar yacht on foot.
Their identity was checked and once their relationship with ETA confirmed, arrested.
They both left Minorca yesterday after being released.
The two had been camping at a site just seven kilometres away from the estate on which the Aznars are spending their holiday.
