Balearic retailers confirm worsening July trade

Palma.The monthly report issued by small to medium-sized business association Pimeco revealed however, that July retail trade this year was slightly up on the previous month of June and in this respect 30 percent of businesses on Majorca said July had been better than June, 36 percent said trade had been the same whilst 34 percent said it had been worse.

Positive assessment between the two months seemed to be higher in Palma with 34% saying July had been more profitable than June whilst in outlying areas, just 25% of those interviewed agreed. Overall commercial evaluation of number of clients and pace of trade for July was slightly above the average for the past 12 months.
