THE traditional Nit de l'Auba in Can Picafort will be held next Sunday and a spokesperson from the Socialist Party (PSOE), Miquel Cifre, has expressed his worries and fears about this forthcoming music event, which will be enjoyed by thousands. The internationally acclaimed Dj, Carl Cox, will be at this year's show and he alone is expected to attract thousands and thousands of party goers. “Knowing what happened in Son Serra, I am worried what is going to happen when an avalanche of people arrive, coming on boats from Ibiza and more than five coaches from Palma”, the Socialist spokesperson said. He is further worried, as the event takes place on Sunday at midnight and so spills over into Monday morning, and not the usual Friday night and Saturday morning. ”Monday, the day of the fiesta, the beach will be completely dirty, and will require a lot of cleaning before it is ready for people to use again”, added the socialist, Miquel Cifre. Therefore, he is asking the authorities to open up a political debate with regards to these type of fiestas which take place in public places during the early hours.
