BALEARIC President, Francesc Antich, speaking in Minorca yesterday, said that the regional government was going to make 1.5 million euros available to the Council of Minorca for improving infrastructure and public transport by road.

Council leader Marc Pons confirmed that with this latest investment, Minorca would have a total of 2.2 million euros to spend on providing visitors and people living on the island with a service which is greatly improved in quality and efficiency. It will mean that there will be greater frequency on transport routes where there is the greatest demand such as is the case in the one which links Mahon with Ciutadella, especially at the weekends. New routes are also on the agenda such as one which will provide frequent connections with the municipality of Es Migjorn Gran.
