THE new non-smoking law was reinforced yesterday in Calvia town council, when a delegation from the Ministry of Health presented the contents of the new drug dependency law, which has only recently been approved by the Balearic Government. The presentation was made in front of the hotel, restaurant and bar owners in the Calvia district.
This meeting forms part of the informative campaign which the Ministry of Health is carrying out all over the islands, said a spokesperson from Calvia town council. The hotel and bar sector were given a special service telephone number (902 075 727), which can be used if they have any queries or questions on the new law. This new service is being offered after many bar and restaurant owners complained about the lack of information on the non-smoking law.
The law states that all bars and restaurants must have a non-smoking area, which is clearly identified and separate from the smoking sections.
