A COLD snap bringing rain, clouds and cooler temperatures is going to arrive in the islands this weekend, said Jose Antonio Guijarro, from the Balearic Weather Station. bMinorca and the North of Majorca will be most affected by this change in weather, although all areas of the islands are at risk from the cold snap, which will be the result of a new cold front hitting the current warm front, causing condensation and general unstable weather. It is likely that the rain will fall by up to 50 litres per hour in some towns. This is something which happened recently in the centre of Majorca, but for completely different reasons. The current humid and cloudy weather on the island is being caused by warm front from the Sahara and will last through until this weekend.
