Palma.— Melanie C flew down to Palma on Monday, on the same flight as the Prime Minister and his family, and is thought to be here for business as opposed to pleasure.

Melanie C is going to play the part of Mary Magdalene in the UK arena tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar.
The lead was cast during a recent live TV talent show, Superstar, on which Melanie C and of course Lloyd Webber were two of the four judges, and as part of the training, all of the potential stars were brought down to Lloyd Webber's home here in Deya for a “musical boot camp.” Now Melanie C is back and quite possibly so too is the winning lead star Ben Foster and Lloyd Webber as the kick off of the big tour draws near. The musical's tour plays London's 02 Arena on September 21 before shipping out across the country to Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, Nottingham and Sheffield.

The cast also features Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot, comedian and Radio One DJ Chris Moyles as King Herod.
Webber is also expected to be working with Garry Barlow, who returns to the X Factor this Saturday, on the island over the summer.
