PALMA airport had more airline passengers pass through its doors than any other Spanish airport, except Madrid Barajas airport, and these figures are higher than last year. More than 2.8 million passengers used Palma airport during July, which is a 6.16 percent increase from 2004, according to the results announced by the Spanish Air Authorities (Aena). Most people were travelling on commercial flights, with the majority on international outboard or inboard trips.
Since the start of this year more than 11.8 million people have used the Palma airport, which represents a 5.3 percent increase from last year.
Furthermore, 102'578 flights have operated from the capital airport, which is 2.27 percent more than last year when only 100'304 flights operated.
By nationalities, Germans were the leading travellers at Palma Airport, with 965'481 using the airport in July which is a 13.5 percent increase.
However, there were less British travellers using the airport this year.
In fact, a total of 729'152 British people used the airport, which represents a 6.09 percent decrease compared to last year.-
