STAFF REPORTER THE town of Fornalutx once again finds itself without water and the local council has been forced to buy three lorry loads of drinking water for residents.

Until recently, the town's supply depended on a single underground source which in the summer months proved insufficient for the town's needs. But since the new water supply from sa Costera has being channelled down through a major engineering project from beyond Soller, Fornalutx councillors believed emergency supplies were no longer necessary. A delay in works on the Soller pumping station, reportedly due to complaints about its “unsightliness” has meant that the water from sa Costera is still unable to reach Fornalutx.
