Fermin Elizaga, spokesperson for the State Met. Office said yesterday that the cold front from the Atlantic which has brought storms and heavy rain, in particular to the Balearics, over the past week, will begin to drift away from today.

Elizaga said that the start of September will bring more stable weather conditions to most of the country, although a few showers could remain in the Balearics but they will be in no way as intense as the storms which battered the region at the start of the week.
