SOLLER
SOLLER train services were disrupted yesterday after one of the over head power cables snapped.
The incident happened at midday and one of the trains was left stranded with no power near Es Cinc Ponts.
Passengers had to abandon the train and continue their journey on foot to the centre of Soller just 30 minutes walk away along the Montreals path.
The railway was made immediately aware of the situation and mechanics were at the scene rapidly.
However, the fault was slightly more complicated than expected and the rest of the day's services were cancelled.
Throughout the afternoon, a fleet of buses carried passengers between Palma and Soller and money was returned to those passengers wanting a refund on their unused ticket. The Soller train is expected to be operating as usual today after railway engineer spent all afternoon at the scene repairing the faulty cable.
