THE central Socialist government representative in the Balearic Islands, Ramon Socias, voiced his concern yesterday about the lack of local language on the Balearic television station, IB3. He said that night-time programmes on the channel were predominantly in Castillian Spanish. Separately, although Socias acknowledged that he had little time for watching IB3 television during his working day, he said he felt it was inadequate that the last news briefing at midnight on IB3 lasted only ten minutes. He therefore watched other news channels.
