THE new web site offering free on line port information and a moorings bookings system in the Mediterranean is now up and running.
Portbooker.com is a website created by Virtual Marina S.L. whose objective is to give users access to detailed information on all existing ports, however small, said the director general of the project, Jorge Velasco. The web site also offers comparison tables for the ports, sites of interest, interactive maps and meteorological information.
Velasco said that the search is simple and that the user has the option of finding a mooring in a specific area suited to the characteristics of their boat, the dates they are planning to be there, and to book directly on line. To make it easy for the user to access the information, the Portbooker.com home page offers three search alternatives (mooring bookings, interactive map, directory by countries) and technical information aimed at boat captains (address of the port, contact dates, radio channel, number of moorings, geographical positions, technical characteristics of the port, services, photographs and meteorological information. Users can also view other information related to the port (accommodation, car rental etc.)
