Palma.—Calvia´s 15,000 non-Spanish residents were being urged yesterday to attend a council meeting today in which the council will pass a motion aimed at replacing the dreaded green residence certificate with our old style residence card.

The council meeting starts at 12pm but the residence permit issue will not be discussed until later because there are other issues on the agenda first, including a motion by the socialist party on the three-language education system. Councillor Angie Guerrero was busy yesterday preparing her speech for today. She has championed this cause in Calvia and it is thanks to her that the motion has actually come to a council meeting.
