THE Balearic government is planning to use the image of the Polish composer Frederic Chopin to boost tourism to the Island.
Tourist promotion director, Eduardo Gamero, confirmed that 300 Polish travel agents are scheduled to visit Majorca in March of 2006. He said that the use of Chopin's connection with the island will boost Majorca's attractiveness to a “potentially lucrative market over the next few years”. The Polish visitorswho will take part in a Congress at the Valldemossa monastery of La Cartuja, where Chopin spent the winter of 1838.
