CANTABRIAN seaman Vital Alsar will be bringing his special message of peace into Palma today on his 35-metre trimaran, Zamna.
Launched on 25th August this year in the port of Alvarado, Veracruz, the vessel has been the carrier of a series of conferences on international peace coordinated by the Rotary Club of Santander in the Americas and Europe.

Expected to arrive at the Muelle Viejo (old commercial jetty) in Palma at 10.30am, the Flag of Peace will be raised at 11am after local authorities have given an official reception to the visiting craft and her crew made up of Mexicans, Canadians and Spaniards. As in all its other stop-off ports, Alsar will host a conference on peace, rights and individual liberty regardless of race, and defence of the environment. The Zamna will stay in Palma until 2nd November after which she will depart for Ostia in Italy and Piraeus in Greece. The craft has seven sails and three 21-metre high masts.
