After four years as British Ambassador to Spain, Sir Giles Paxman will be leaving the post at the end of this month and yesterday bid his farewells to Majorca and Ibiza.

Palma.—Sir Giles, accompanied by the Consul General Andrew Gwatkin, met the Balearic President Jose Ramon Bauza and the central government delegate to the Balearics, Teresa Palmer, yesterday morning before thanking the staff at the British Consulate for all their support over lunch before flying to Ibiza to thank the consular team over there.
