BALEARIC government deputy leader Rosa Estaras claimed yesterday in regional parliament that the Majorcan television station IB3 is the cheapest and most efficient in Spain. She said that the cost to each inhabitant had levelled out at only 36.62 euros in 2005 and will be 47.05 euros in 2006. Both these figures are lower than fees that have to be paid by citizens for other regional TV stations. She spoke in response to criticism by the socialist party that the cost for IB3 was 62 euros per person, a figure Estaras discounted as false.
