NADAL NAMED AS THE NEW MINISTER FOR TOURISM

THE leader of the Majorcan Unionist party, Miguel Nadal, will replace Francesc Buils, who resigned last night, as the new Balearic Minister for Tourism
Buils caused a political storm last week when he sacked two top Tourism Ministry aids and fellow party members without having consulted party bosses.

Party leaders, including Nadal, reacted angrily - Nadal described Buils as “a rebel” - and crisis meetings were called to resolve an internal party split Buils's behaviour had caused and also the issue of the Minister's future.

After two days of talks, the Majorcan Unionist party chief executive decided that all until further notice.
