The Association of British Travel Agents yesterday published its Winter Holiday Trends 2013/14 report and while it is clear that Britons are travelling this winter, the Balearic government should be looking into why the region does not feature high on the list of top destinations.

Palma.—With local hoteliers claiming that the reason they are closing up for the winter is the lack of flights while the airlines maintain that they have reduced their winter flight programme because the hotels are not open, the local tourism authorities could perhaps be looking at the larger picture - where Britons are going and why.
