“Work out” park for the handicapped

KEEPING fit and enjoying outside activity is no longer to be a privilege of the young and able-bodied said Palma City Council yesterday on the occasion of International Day for the Elderly.

Palma's mayor, Aina Calvo announced that Son Gibert park provides no less than 14 activities which can be undertaken by both the elderly and physically handicapped out of doors. The exercises are very similar to those that such people would practice under normal circumstances in rehabilitation centres for recovery from broken bones and fractures.
