PALMA
THE President of the Balearics, Francesc Antich, yesterday fired a stern warning to the Majorcan Unionist Party, whose three Council of Majorca members‘ withdrawal of their support from the governing coalition body on Wednesday in protest over the way they have been poorly treated by the President of the Council, Francina Armengol.

Antich, who had remained silent on the issue since the crisis broke, apparently trying to resolve the problem behind the scenes, yesterday said that the first thing is to try and convince the UM three to return to rejoin the Socialist-led coalition on the Council of Majorca.

However, he warned that, if this does not happen over the course of the coming week “we will have no option but to take the relevant action.”
