STAFF REPORTER THE “R Drivers” Group is proposing a race track development with leisure installations which could put the Balearics on the map of motor racing. For a long time now, there have been moves to provide the region with a full-size track for both car and motorcyle sports. The first phase of the project would include setting up organisational headquarters, producing a magazine and official website and the launching of an “R Drivers” school of motor racing geared specifically towards GT models. Such a school would be given accreditation by the Race Academy and operate with a team of monitors and its own fleet of vehicles.

Other support for the project would be found in collaboration from companies such as Simtech Pro, Serbecar and the RACC who would provide simulators. As well as the provision of a maintenance centre for GT vehicles, the proposal also embraces the building of a sales and exhibition hall.
