Madrid.—A study carried out by Barlovento Communications has shown that the amount of time people in Spain spent watching television last month is the greatest in the history of Spanish TV. The average per person, said the survey, was 246 minutes a day in October (4 hours 6 minutes).

The figure is an 18 minute increase on the average recorded for September and six more compared to October 2010. The survey suggested that the explosion in the use of mobiles and other forms of social networking using the internet has not affected the time that people spend watching the television.

The audience, said the survey, is now spread out over a greater choice of channels.
