Palma.The events unfolded on the night of Monday, 31st October when three 13-year-old girls were going from door to door in a residential area of Maria de la Salut, asking for sweets in the traditional manner of trick or treating for Halloween. At the door of one particular house, an elderly man responded to the entreaty by insisting the girl came inside, saying he was going to provide sweets and biscuits for her.
The accused allegedly asked the other two girls to remain in the doorway as he didn't want all of them inside at the same time.
Once alone with the victim, the 84-year-old allegedly started trying to kiss and abuse her. During the ensuing struggle, the girl managed to escape, and ran out into the street.
After returning home, the victim related the incident to her family. The girl's father immediately went to Local Police in Maria de la Salut and lodged a legal complaint against the elderly man. The girl had vividly remembered the address so the Police were able to make the arrest shortly afterwards. Until a court hearing is arranged, the girl's family have asked for a restrainining order against the alleged aggressor.
