PALMA
THE Coordinator of Non Governmental Organisations of the Balearic Islands (CONGDIB) is pleased to announce this Saturday's “Charity Saturday”, the ongoing, fund-raising partnership with Agua Bar in Calle Jaume Ferrer 6, La Lonja, Palma will benefit ACPP (Asamblea de Cooperación Por la Paz).

On November 6th and the first Saturday of the month, the Agua Bar will donate 50 cents for every drink served all night long (7:00pm to 3:00 am. )
Every month since April, CONGDIB and the Agua Bar have hosted Charity Saturday events with contributions going to benefit a number of causes including the reconstruction efforts in Haiti, Vecinos Sin Fronteras (Neighbours without Borders) and the local Food Bank in Palma.

Agua's total contributions have exceded 1'000 euros, with no end in sight.
The president of CONGDIB, Marino de la Rocha, commented “when Agua Bar brought the idea for Charity Saturdays to our office, we recognised it immediately as a win-win opportunity. “Obviously we're hoping it starts a giving trend from many more businesses in the Balearics and much further.”

MAKING PEOPLE FEEL GOOD
Agua Bar, co-owner Lee B., says “we're in the business of making people feel good. “Imagine how much better every beer tastes, knowing that you're doing some good in the world. Helping bring peace to war-torn areas by sipping some wine…it doesn't get much better than that.” Fund-raising has a long tradition of social gatherings utilising ample amounts of champagne, wine and cocktails to loosen purse strings. The CONGDIB/Agua association brings that tradition to Palma. “Charity Saturdays” give everyone who visits Agua Bar on the first Saturday of every month the chance to… Have a drink and make the world a little better.
