Palma.—There was more industrial action in Majorca yesterday against the government’s trilingual TILprogramme and while the Ministry for Education claimed that only 10.3 percent of state school teachers backed the strike action, the Balearics Teachers’ Assembly reported that 46 percent of teachers went on strike and that negotiations with the government had come to a complete standstill.
And, with teachers clearly opposed to introducing the TILprogramme the government suffered another potential set back.
