MAGALLUF
A luxury yachting marina complex planned for unused land in Magalluf could finally get the go-ahead after the festive season.
The ambitious project to divert sea water inland to an area behind the massive Fiesta hotel complex has been delayed several times by a series of political and environmental obstacles.

But councillors in Calvia are hoping that a meeting of the Council of Majorca on February 9 next year will finally give the green light to the project, which could transform the resort.

Calvia's plans for the area include the luxury marina project, a new home for Majorca cricket club, a lawn bowling complex, botanical gardens and an exclusive hotel development.

At the moment the site is mostly unused except for the existing cricket ground and a weekly car boot sale that takes place nearby.
