MADRID
SPAIN'S rate of inflation continued to fall last month to stand at 3.6 percent, nine decimal points lower than the level it had registered in September this year. According to central government, it could close at the end of 2008 at under 3 percent provided that the cost of fuel continues its “low level trend” and that there are no “new surprises.”.

According to a report published yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) consumer prices in October rose four decimal points in relation to September, although the year-on-year figure fell by 9 decimal points to 3.6 percent, settling at the same level as a year ago.
