PALMA airport was used in October by a total of 2.1 million passengers, some 4.1 percent more than in the same month last year.
This makes Palma the third busiest Spanish airport in October, behind Madrid and Barcelona.
According to AENA (the Spanish Airports Authority), 166.3 million passengers used Spanish airports during the first 10 months of the year, which is an increase of 6.4 percent in comparison with the same period in 2005. Up to October there were more than 1.9 million operations in Spanish airports, 4.4 percent more than last year and freight traffic was 489'461 tonnes, some 3.6 percent less than in 2005. In October alone Spanish airports handled more than 17.5 million passengers, which was an increase of six percent in comparison with October last year. The number of flights was 203'000, 7.3 percent more, and freight traffic 55'000 tonnes, 1.8 percent more.
